Swynford Manor is one of those rare Cambridgeshire wedding venues that looks incredible in every season, but in summer, it truly comes alive. Golden light across the gardens, guests mingling on the lawns, and outdoor ceremonies in the sunshine… it’s everything couples dream of.

Abbey and Luke’s celebration was relaxed, warm, joyful, and full of fun touches that made the day completely their own. From magic tricks during the drinks reception to heartfelt family moments and unforgettable evening portraits, their wedding had the perfect summer energy from start to finish.

Calm & Cool Groom Prep

Luke spent the morning at Swynford Manor with his groomsmen, a chilled, easy-going start to the day with just the right amount of laughter. The lighting was just right for the photos of Luke doing his cufflinks.

Bridal Prep: Laughter & Champagne

Over in the bridal suite, Abbey’s morning was full of energy. Bridesmaids laughed through makeup, champagne corks popped, and every candid moment felt like a preview of the celebration ahead.

We captured the quiet details, her shoes, flowers, veil, but also the fun: the cheers, the dressing gowns, the morning buzz that every summer wedding seems to have.

Back with the Groomsmen

Once the groomsmen were suited and booted, we stepped outside for some effortless, natural shots of them walking together down the Swynford Manor drive in the summer sun.

A Beautiful First Look with Dad

Once Abbey stepped into her dress, the mood shifted from excitement to emotion.

A soft-artistic portrait in the window light…
And the moment everyone remembers, her dad seeing her for the first time.

Mum and sister teared up in the background and then burst into laughter, dad held back tears as long as he could, and the whole room felt full of love.

Outdoor Ceremony at Swynford Manor

Summer weddings were made for outdoor ceremonies, and Swynford Manor’s gardens are the perfect backdrop.

Abbey and Luke held hands, smiling constantly at each other as they exchanged vows in the sunshine. Their daughter even joined them for the walk back down the aisle, surrounded by confetti and cheers from all their guests. It was a natural, joyful, heart-full moment that set the tone for the rest of the day.

Drinks Reception in the Sunshine

With the weather on their side, guests gathered outside the venue to enjoy the summer warmth.

There were drinks on the lawn, grandparents smiling for the camera, and the incredible magician Matthew Le Mottee moving between groups, leaving trails of laughter behind him.

It was relaxed, full of movement, full of energy, the kind of drinks reception couples hope for when they plan a summer wedding.

Sunlight, Laughter & Quiet Moments Together

We slipped away for a few portraits while guests enjoyed the sunshine.

The pagoda created a gorgeous backdrop as the two of them walked together, laughed together, and really took the day in.

Some shots were soft and romantic, some playful, and one portrait used Abbey’s veil to add movement, a perfect combination for a summer wedding gallery.

Wedding Party Fun on the Driveway

Before heading into the speeches, we brought the wedding party onto Swynford Manor’s long driveway for a quick session.

It turned into one of our favourite parts of the day, full of personality, inside jokes, and genuine fun. Summer weddings always seem to bring out the best in everyone, and this group absolutely delivered.

Inside, the atmosphere turned warm and emotional.

Luke laughed through his best man’s stories…
Abbey smiled across the table…
And magician Matthew Le Mottee even returned for one final show-stopping trick involving fire, the perfect finale before the evening celebrations.

Golden Hour Moments in the Garden

With such incredible summer weather, we couldn’t resist heading back outside.

Abbey shared a sweet moment on the lawn with her daughter…
She cuddled her mum as the sun dipped behind the trees…
And we captured a natural, unposed shot of Abbey and Luke walking together, completely unaware of the camera, just enjoying the stillness of the evening.

First Dance & A Summer Party That Didn’t Stop

Their first dance was beautiful, intimate, and filled with smiles.

Then the energy kicked up, bridesmaids on the dance floor, guests letting loose, and the full summer party atmosphere taking over Swynford Manor.

We ended the night with one of our favourite portraits: Abbey and Luke against the illuminated pagoda and pathway lights.
